Gentile Cusworth Hall faces an American invasion and will be under siege from Yankees and Confederates this weekend.
The American Civil War Society is pitching up tents, ready to re-enact battles from the 1860s slavery wars for visitors’ entertainment.
The UK-based society will be opening up their three camps – Union, Confederate and Civilian – for visitors to observe daily life for soldiers and their families during the wars.
But at 2.30pm each day, the re-enactors will do battle with authentic muskets and cannons.
The re-enactors have already scouted-out the lie of the land at Cusworth Park with a preliminary camp and mini-skimish in May.
This time, the battles promise to be bigger and better.
The camp will be open to visitors from 11am-5pm.
The hall, tea-room and remainder of the park not used for the historic battle will be open as normal.
Car-parking charges apply.
