Brits are spending millions on beauty miracle-workers to cover up a poor night’s sleep.

Women spend an average of £52 a month on beauty products to disguise the signs of ageing, eye bags and fine lines, according to a Silentnight study.

Despite the big beauty spend, fewer than a third of people (30 per cent) believe that the products actually do the job.

Respondents believed sleep, staying hydrated, healthy diet and exercise beat face creams for staving off the ageing process.

But despite this British women are still forking out a massive £133,575 over a lifetime in order to keep their looks maintained from head to toe.
