SLIDESHOW: Vintage day out at Sandtoft Trolleybus Museum

It was a nostalgic day out for all when vintage buses and other historical vehicles were brought to life at Sandtoft Trolleybus Museum’s biggest day of the year.

The Gathering 2013 saw visitors whisked back in time as a fine array of cars and commercial vehicles, representing modes of transport from a bygone age, were put through their paces.

The visitor attraction, started in 1969 by a small group of volunteers is home to Britain’s largest collection of preserved trolleybuses and motorbuses.

The annual event saw a large selection of trolleybuses take to the ‘roads’ and there was a vintage vehicle featuring classic cars and buses as well as modern buses.

Children loved the chance to drive a trolleybus through a simulator and take part in a nature trail.
