SEARCHING for a place to rest your weary legs?
Or perhaps you fancy warming your body up following a gentle stroll?
Look no further.
A cosy, inviting tearoom awaits you in the grounds of historic Cusworth Hall.
With its original cobbled stable floor and open fire (beware the spitting sticks!) it’s just the place to bide a while during the chilly winter months.
Summer time is a different situation altogether with a sun drenched patio area where you can gaze across the spectacular gardens of this historic hall.
A comprehensive selection of gorgeous homemade cakes, pastries and freshly made food served with a smile and a chat by Kay and her team.
It also happens to be the home of the ‘Chocolate Fantasy Workshop’. a chocoholic’s delight that will turn the head of even the most dedicated slimmer!
There is much more on offer of course, in fact there’s a comprehensive menu which includes soup of the day, homemade steak pie, homemade lasagne and garlic bread and more plus a scrumptious range of sandwiches and whole host of other tasty goodies.
It’s just the place to meet up and have a chat with friends.
Of course you could also spend some time in the fascinating museum housed inside the Hall itself (entrance fee). All in all it’s a very pleasant way to pass a couple of hours for not a lot of pennies.
Another plus for this little gem of an eating spot is its situation, easy to get to and a pleasant drive through none congested roads.
Or if you are feeling particularly fit and healthy then why not walk?
There are many woodland and country strolls which will point you towards this 18th century country house and it’s attractions.
The museum is a favourite with all ages, local historians will find it particularly fascinating as it depicts Doncaster’s history in a quite spectacular way.
The grounds are quite simply beautiful especially when the flowers are out, sitting on a park bench under a warm sun with just a hint of the A1 traffic in the distance telling you that you have made the right decision to come here for a break.
Cusworth Tea Room is open 7 days a week 10am till 4pm and only closes at Christmas from 24 December to January 2, 2012.
There is a huge car park with a small fee and the Hall itself is open Monday to Thursday from 11am till 4.30pm, Saturday and Sunday 1pm till 4.30pm and closed on Fridays.
