New food outlet at Manvers

ABOUT 10 new jobs have been created within a new sandwich outlet at the Onyx Retail Park, Manvers.

Greggs the Baker chose its unit because it is sited close to the A633 and to expanding residential areas.

The new store is for food on-the-go and will sell freshly-made sandwiches, savouries, a wide breakfast range, freshly ground coffee and sweet products. There will be a small al fresco area comprising tables, chairs and umbrellas for anyone wishing to consume their purchases on site.

Onward Holdings has developed the Onyx park on the former Manvers colliery site. Director Neil Storey said: “We are delighted that high-street brands like Greggs are recognising that the Onyx Retail Park is a prime site to set up new stores. Part of the success seems to be down to the high level of passing vehicle movements and on-going housing developments which has created a ready market”.

Due to a speedy take-up of units, Onward Holdings has accelerated the release of phase two, comprising a further 10,000 square feet of space which is split between two units.

Onward has applied for planning permission to allow the units to be divided in to much smaller shells to accommodate quick service food stores or restaurants, should the demand arise.
