Barratt Group in Yorkshire reports local sales surge

LEADING housebuilder Barratt David Wilson Yorkshire part of the Barratt Group is celebrating after enjoying remarkable sales success in the last 12 months, showing that demand for new homes in the area remains strong despite the mixed national picture.

The Yorkshire based housebuilder which has an East and West division, saw sales during the June 2011 to June 2012 period increase by 12 per cent against the same period last year. This increase was worth £152M and provides solid evidence that demand in the local housing market is increasing.

“We have a strong reputation for building high quality homes in great locations throughout the region which has enabled us to perform strongly despite the uncertainty about the wider economy at the moment, ” said Paul Hogan, Sales Director at Barratt David Wilson Yorkshire East.

“One of the key issues for anyone buying a home is getting the right mortgage. What gives us the edge over other people selling homes is that we can provide customers with innovative financial incentives. One of these schemes is NewBuy, the 95 per cent mortgage backed by government, which means customers, both first time buyers and home movers, only need a five per cent deposit.

“We would urge house buyers to get in touch with us as soon as possible to discuss what is available in the local area and how we can help.”
