MAJOR renovation work has given a new lease of life to the Pub of the Week - The Brickmakers Arms in Walkeringham.

We spoke to landlord Adam Jones about what the pub has to offer.

Landlord/landlady name: Adam and Donna Jones.

How long has the pub been open?:

We have been open since the end of March 2011. We took the property on in late January but due to flooding and disrepair we had some major renovations to complete before we could open!

What facilities does the pub offer:

We are disabled and child friendly, with mainly same level/ramped areas and disabled toilet and a baby change unit. There is a large beer garden with children’s play area, and we also run both a children’s and a smaller appetite menu between 12-7pm everyday. We also have accommodation and function facilities for any event and run a quiz night on Monday evening and often have entertainment on Saturday nights.

What beers do you sell?

We currently serve Hancocks and Black Sheep and guest cask ales, also Carling, Grolsch, Coors Light and Becks, Magners Gold and Strongbow.

Tell us about your menu:

We pride ourselves on sourcing locally where possible and have a good local supply of award winning free range pork from Redhill Farm, locally sourced beef and lamb from Martin Glasby Butchers and our pate and cheesecake is chef-made by Albion Artisan Foods of Epworth. Our menu caters for all, from light snacks to griddle meals, prices from £3.95-£15-95. We are currently revamping our menus to complement our newly revamped restaurant, perfect for eating out for any occasion.

If you go out for a drink which is your favourite pub?

We tend to stay local if we go out, using pubs in the surrounding villages.
