Ladies Night is a heart-warming story about a group of five Barnsley lads who are unemployed and develop a male striptease act.

The concept might sound familiar, but the comedy by Stephen Sinclair and Anthony McCarten was written 10 years before The Full Monty became a smash hit.

The production, which runs until Saturday, stars Dene Michael from 80s group Black Lace.

To give a true 80s flavour to the proceedings, Dene will be blasting out some off his hits in the finale such as Agadoo, The Conga, and many more.

Dene told the Times: “I’m really looking forward to Ladies Night – it will be great fun”.

“I will be performing Black Lace favourites, Gang Bang and Superman to enliven the proceedings and get the audience going.”

Dene is famous for performing Gang Bang in the hit 80s film Rita, Sue and Bob Too.

“Black Lace are going through a bit of a revival at the moment,” said Dene. “We have just had a hit with the Conga on the Trainline advertisement, so we are re-releasing it.

“I have recruited a new lad Ian Robinson, who is doing very well – we are still doing festivals and functions.”

Dean is certainly keeping busy these days. As well as the Black Lace roadshow, he has formed an Everly brothers tribute, The Elderly Brothers.

Show Times are 7.15pm. Tickets are available by calling 01226 744442.
