a DONCASTER hairdressing team showed they were a cut above as they tamed the tresses of celebrities and models at a prestigious fashion show.

Co-owners of Saks Doncaster, Rebecca Green and Paul Calladine, rubbed shoulders with the fashion elite at The Clothes Show Live in Birmingham making sure everyone was runway ready.

And the Saks stylists are clearly in demand after having to turn down an offer to style chart-toppers Coldplay for their new music video as they were fully booked and did not want to disappoint their Doncaster clients.

Rebecca, 25, co-owner of the High Street salon said: “Paul got the call about Coldplay a few days before they wanted him. He was really honoured to have been ask but the salon was so busy we couldn’t get away.We didn’t want to let people down before Christmas.”

But the top hairdressing team was not short of celebrities in need of a styling at the NEC Birmingham clothes show event earlier this month. They included TV presenter George Lamb, Arg from popular TV show The Only Way Is Essex, presenter Jeff Brazier and Britain’s next Top model winner Jade Thompson.

Rebecca said: “I loved it, it was a really good day and all the celebrities were lovely. Jade who won Britain’s Next Top model was a really nice girl.”

“The look we went for was 70s inspired with a teddy bear texture to the hair worn of the face that was the look book of the show.”

The team also worked on London Fashion Week this year creating several different looks for big designers as well as finding time to open the new High Street salon.

Rebecca said: “It’s being going really well, we are getting really busy and we’ve got a lot of good offers on in the New Year too.”

And as well as meeting the needs of their Doncaster clients Rebecca, who is part of the future art team with Saks, is working on the video for Coronation Street and Big Brother star Lucien Laviscount and plans to return to Birmingham and London fashion week next year.
