A grand medieval joust will be the jewel in the English Heritage events crown at Bolsover Castle on Sunday August 30 and Monday 31.

The spectacular grounds of the 17th century castle will resound with the roar of horses hooves and the clash of lances when the event takes place.

Medieval merrymakers will be able to meet the knights before cheering them on and find out more about their armour and weaponry as they are dressed in preparation for combat by their squires.

There will also be medieval entertainment, treats, games, the chance to watch a medieval trial and falconry displays.

Amanda Twells said: “This event is always exciting and definitely not to be missed.

Bolsover Castle provides a stunning backdrop for an event full of breath-taking displays of skill.”
