THE World’s most famous colliery band is to give a charity concert in Wath.
Grimethorpe Colliery Band achieved worldwide fame in 1995 when they provided the soundtrack music and extras for the hit film ‘Brassed Off’.
Since then the band has toured worldwide.
It is the third time Wath area fundraisers for Rotherham Hospice have brought Grimethorpe Colliery Band to the town, but the last concert was over 10 years ago.
Irene Hartley, one of the organisers, said: “This will be a great night with top-class music and it’s for a really good cause.”
The concert is at Wath Comprehensive School, Sandygate on Thursday, June 30 from 7.15pm.
Tickets are £10 from the Labour Office, High Street, Wath, or from Rotherham Hospice furniture shop, Montgomery Square, Wath.
Alternatively, phone Irene on 01709 875943 (day) or 872618 (evening).
