A SCAWTHORPE actor aiming for the big time has just landed another movie role.
As reported in last week’s Free Press, Richard Crehan, 23, will make his big screen debut alongside Ray Winston in September when he appears in a movie remake of the 1970s favourite The Sweeney, and will take a lead role in the stylised The Knife That Killed Me.
But now the former High Melton College student has been signed to star in the short movie This Is Vanity which will be submitted on the festival circuit next year.
The film looks at a young mum and her struggle to stop her disabled child from being bullied, and according to the director Olly Goldrum poses the question ‘under what circumstance is it acceptable to take another person’s life?’
Richard will start filming on the project next month.
He is also in the running for a major film role after being called back for a second audition with producers this week, but has yet to be told the outcome.
