A 40-year-old reason to believe in Birdwell Club!
JUST how do you get one of the biggest bands in the history of prog rock to record a new single?
Start a Facebook campaign – that's how!
Fans of Wishbone Ash did just that... and Reason To Believe – the band's first official single release for two decades – will hit the streets on May 17.
Just 12 days before that, Flying V-wielding world famous guitarist Andy Powell is bringing his incarnation of one of the globe's top rock acts to BIRDWELL!
On May 5, Powell's outfit will be in the village, playing the old Birdwell Club – now known as the Birdwell Venue – as part of their latest UK tour.
Expect a packed house, waiting to hear Reason to Believe, which the band bleieves will lay down a marker to catch a whole new generation of fans.
The single is the first out since Cosmis Jazz hit the record shops in 1989.
Since then the band has split, with guitar player Powell and bassist Martin Turner leading rival incarnations.
Despite the maturing age of Wishbone Ash – the band celebrated its FORTIETH anniversary last year! – the players continue to tear up the tarmac and Powell's band are currently engaged in a 150-plus live date tour this year alone!
The new single is already attracting pre-release radio play and you can follow the POwell band's fortunes on www.wishboneash.com
