RE: PARTY in the Park at Denaby Main on Wednesday 6th August 2008
The day was chosen and we planned and organised with gusto at Denaby Main Forum, trying to bring to Denaby a show which would be remembered by young and old, one which we could build on and improve year on year.

On the day the men were busy erecti
ng the marquees to display the goods and information stalls that were to arrive very shortly. Our local 'Poet Laureate' Benny Wilkinson wrote us a poem "What a Party", printed in The South Yorkshire Times last week.

Most of our exhibitors arrived along with TRAX FM and the bouncy castle was bouncing. Doncaster Rovers representatives came to tryout for a new Wayne Rooney. Faces were painted in the park and at Sure Start, the children loved this and they all looked wonderful. Great fun for all.

The clown entertained us with his different circus skills and the dancers danced and the music played. The children had rides and games to play, the adults could collect very important information. Ice creams, hot dogs, candy floss and doughnuts were all going down well with everyone. The sun shone for us at the right time in the right place, our prayers were answered and everyone had a wonderful day.

We would like to thank the market traders who stayed open longer and the fish and chip shop who added to the day. We would wish our best to the leader of the Cadets who has broken his foot, and was unable to attend but we hope to see them next year.

We will work to expand our event for next year and deliver an exciting day to Denaby Main again. The exhibitors donated.

The park was cleared and left in a pristine condition which was down to the neighbourhood team who made a really good job for which we are very grateful.

A wonderful day was had by all and we hope to see you, your friends and many more at next year's event. so thanks to all who were involved in bringing this day to a very happy conclusion. Many thanks to all.
