MASTERS of mimicry, Stars In Our Eyes, will bring a solar system of star soundalikes to Mexborough Main Street Working Men's Club on Saturday night in a charity show in aid of the Aurora Centre.
The Conisbrough-based impersonation supergroup - which boasts a lineup of household names including Freddie Mercury, Frank Sinatra and Dusty Springfield - has raised more than £250,000 for charities in its five year existence.
Founder member Juddy Hamshaw explained: "When we first began, it was just a few friends raising money for a local boy called Morgan Young.
"I had been approached to help while I was doing karaoke.
"None of us realised that five years later, we would still be going strong. Everything just snowballed and now every concert we play is a sell out."
The 11-strong group covers superstars from Cher to Noddy Holder – and each member impersonates two or three singers each during their three-hour show, which is set up like the hit Stars in their Eyes TV show.
Juddy, who perfects Matt Monro's British ballads, said: "It's just really fun, and a different thing to do. Everything we have is self-funded, and everyone works really hard to get everything spot on."
Tickets priced at £2 are available from the club or from the Aurora Centre. The show starts at 8pm.
