BIG success with his first book has led Rawmarsh author Tony Beesley to pen a second punk volume - with exclusive new pictures.
A great reception to Our Generation prompted Tony to continue his narrative, and fans can look forward to photos such as a young Billy Idol at the Rotherham Windmill, and members of the Clash backstage in Sheffield in the seventies.
Many pictures
to be included are from the personal collection of local woman Julie Longden.
Tony said that fan feedback has reached him from as far as the USA, Australia, and Europe.
He said: "The feedback has been more than enough to inspire me to get a follow up book written and now with some very rare photos from my friend Julie's collection, the excitement level has gone up more than a notch or ten!
"Julie truly led the Punk life and managed to hang out and get to know many of the big name bands of the time, including The Clash, The Boys, Stranglers, The Adverts, Generation X and one of her own personal favourites, Ian Dury.
"I can't wait to unleash Julie's stories and photos onto the general public with the new book next year."
The follow up will revisit the Punk era again with stories from new voices: but there will be more on the local Mod scene too.
"I am planning on updating the story to include the local scene after 1985," said Tony. "This one could well be the conclusion, but you can never say never..."
Rotherham's very first punk band The Prams, who were interviewed in the late 70's by Jeremy Clarkson for the local press, get their story highlighted, and illustrated with pics from their era.
Some of Tony's accounts also make their way in to his pal Neil Anderson's new book Take It To The Limit.
Said Tony: "I went to the Limit only a handful of times but it was always a great experience. It's now time to celebrate the importance of clubs like the Doncaster Outlook, and the effect that they had on local music fans."
Tony and Neil joined forces to help celebrate the Punk and Post-Punk era in the region, by holding a double event for both their books with original Punk band the Vibrators at Rotherham last month.
