DEARNE Carnival, held in the showground in front of the Dearne Theatre at Goldthorpe, will be held this year on Saturday july 4 and will have an American theme.
The festival runs from 11am until dusk, with live bands, line dancing, samba band, smoothie- making, biking and fishing competition, football tournament, Dearne X Factor on tour, health checks, displays and exhibitions, childrens activities, fairground rides, axe throwing, country crafts and much more.
Barnsley Mayor, Coun Kenneth Sanderson and his wife Beryl will open the event.
