HEMSWORTH and District Probus Club, which meets fortnightly at Hemsworth Conservative Club, is a non-political discussion group for retired men and is always on the lookout for new members. For more information please contact Mr Alan Parr on 01977 612758.
CRE-8 Craft Group meets at Hemsworth Methodist Church on the first and third Saturday of every month. The group make cards and fancy goods and new members are always welcome.

A SENIOR citizens keep fit class is held at Hemsworth Methodist Church
Hall on Mondays from 2pm. Sessions cost £2 and anyone interested in attending is welcome to pop in for more details.

HEMSWORTH district Older People's Enabling (HOPE) Forum meets at Hemsworth Methodist Church Hall every Thursday from 10.30am-noon. Aimed at the over-50s, the drop-in sessions include various activities, refreshments, the opportunity to have private consultations with advisors from Help the Aged, and health and lifestyle advice from NHS workers. SOUTH Hiendley Brass Band urgently need new members. They rehearse in the Reading Rooms at South Hiendley every Friday at 7.30pm. Existing musicians, or anyone who would like to learn to play an instrument are invited to attend. For more information on joining the band, or to book them for a performance please ring Mr Normington on 01226 700760.

BRIERLEY Methodist Women's Fellowship meet every Monday at 2pm. A Karate Club meets at Brierley Methodist Church on Mondays from 7-9pm, and a majorette group meet for training on Thursday and Friday evenings.

BRIERLEY Methodist Boys' Brigade meetings are held weekly during term times at the church, juniors meeting 6.30-8pm on Wednesdays and seniors 7-9pm on Thursdays.

A CHARITY shop is open at The Living Hope Pentecostal Church, Havercroft, from 9am to 12.30pm every Monday and Tuesday, proceeds for church funds, a Bible study and prayer meeting takes place every Tuesday from 7pm and a parents and toddlers group meet in the church on Thursdays from 9am-noon.
