SWORDS, helmets and shields are displayed in an Isle of Axholme school, as pupils learn all about the Vikings.

Juniors at Wroot Travis Church Primary School have studied the Norsemen, and combined history with geography, as they compared and contrasted Viking routes and localities.

Teacher Nerissa Gallagher said pupils enjoyed the project.

She said: “We visited the Jorvik Museum and went around York with a guide. It really captured pupils’ imagination.”
