A CANCER charity has backed a little girl’s plight to raise money to complete a wish list as she battles a terminal illness.

Seven-year-old Abigail Cook, who has a rare condition called Batten Disease which affects her mobility and sight, met the team behind the Eve Merton Dreams Trust.

The charity was set-up in memory of a Doncaster stalwart Eve Merton who lost her battle with cancer in January 2011 and donates money it raises to terminally or seriously ill cancer patients.

The trust has donated money to Abigail’s wish list which includes travelling to Lapland to see Father Christmas and swimming with dolphins in Orlando, Florida - a dream that can finally come true following generous fundraising to pay for the trip.

People connected to Eve’s Trust also held a coffee morning which raised just shy of £1,000 for Warmsworth youngster Abigail.

The trust has also been awarded £1,000 by the BT People Awards’ scheme to honour its incredible work in the borough.
