EPWORTH Primary School pupils took part in celebrations to mark the start of the Chinese New Year last week - The Year of the Dragon.

Class 3J hosted a special assembly about the event.

In front of an audience of parents and grandparents and the whole school the children explained about the traditions of the Chinese New Year festival.

They also gave out information about how each year is named after one of 12 animals.

This year it is the Year of the Dragon so they welcomed a dragon into the assembly.
