start the New Year with a spring in your step with the return of the Get Doncaster Walking festival.

Residents put their best foot forward to take part in the first walk of the festival, that will also feature bike rides this year, at the weekend.

Organisers say by taking a brisk walk or bike ride for 30 minutes a day, Doncaster residents can reduce the risk of developing chronic health problems like coronary heart disease, stroke, diabetes and other major diseases.

A number of walks in the programme have been organised to raise funds for good causes including Sur Ryder. For more information visit www.doncaster.gov.uk/walking.
