FUNDRAISING was a whole lot of fun for Darfield pupils, who welcomed an Olympic gymnast to help them raise some cash.
Matthew Hennessy was at All Saints’ C of E Primary School to head four-minute sponsored work-out sessions for different groups of pupils.
A school spokeswoman said: “Matt was absolutely fantastic. He got the kids really motivated. There was plenty of cheering going on and hopefully we’ll have raised quite a bit of cash for school funds”.
Hennessy further impressed his young audience when he showed off his skills in a demonstration, by performing back flips and walking on his hands. He spent a whole afternoon at Darfield, where staff and pupils are keen to invite him back for a future session.
