SLIDESHOW: Music to their ears as young monkeys shine

Waiting for Video...

A CHILDRENS’ activity group started by a mother to give her youngsters something to do is going from strength to strength.

The Musical Monkeys group was formed several years ago by Haxey woman Kirsty Player for her four children.

And while Reuben, 10, Collin, nine, Isaac, seven and Illyana, six, have moved on to Haxey Primary School, the sessions remain popular with toddlers from across the Isle.

Mrs Player, 36, said: “We get about 15 families coming here to enjoy singing, dancing and musical instruments, which is more than I expected when we first started.

“I formed the group to help give my kids something to do and it’s really taken off.”

The sessions are held at Haxey Memorial Hall on Fridays from 10.30am to noon.
