NEW signs are to point the way to a unique village museum. The Maurice Dobson Museum opened in 2000 and has attracted an increasing flow of visitors. The erection of four new tourist board signs will be celebrated at a gathering and unveiling outside Darfield Post Office, Garden Street, at 1.30pm on Tuesday. Afterwards the group will walk to the Museum to continue the celebration.

Geoffrey Hutchinson, Chairman of the Amenity Society that organises the Museum said, “We asked permission to have the signs 12 years ago when we opened the Museum and have tried again each year.

“At last we will have four signs to direct visitors who come from all over Yorkshire and beyond to see the museum.”
