Ride raises £2,000

Family members of The Laurels resident Mary Howsam raised �2000 for the care home after taking part in a charity bike ride, from the care home to Bridlington. A FUNDRAISING family took to two wheels to complete an epic bike ride in aid of a care home their relative is staying at.

Mary Howsam, 81, was delighted when relatives decided to help boost the coffers at The Laurels in Norton - where their great grandmother is a resident - by cycling from the site to Bridlington.

The pensioner’s fundraisers included great granddaughter Jessica Oliver, 12, and an impressive £2,000 was raised from the 60-mile, day trek.

The money will go towards the funding pot for the residents at the care home in Norton’s High Street for a number of activities such as day trips as well as extra equipment.
