Residents offered free eye checks
RESIDENTS in the Dearne are being encouraged to get their eyes tested as part of National Eye Health Week.
South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Barnsley Council are joining forces with leading eyecare organisations to hold an eye health information event in Barnsley town centre on Tuesday, September 18, between 10am and 2pm.
There will be lots of information stalls run by local eye health specialists where local people can get information and advice about the best way to look after their eyes and the importance of getting an eye test.
It is being held as part of National Eye Health Week, which runs from September 17 to 23.
Moira Alton, an eye health specialist, said: “It is important to care for our eyes and to have a regular eye test as many eye conditions can be diagnosed.”
