SIX schools in Doncaster have signed up to take part in a charity world record breaking attempt for the most people signing and singing simultaneously.
Pupils from Doncaster School for the Deaf, Pennine View School in Conisbrough, Long Toft Primary School in Stainforth, Plover Primary School in Intake, Park Primary School in Wheatley and Woodfield Primary School in Balby will be participating in the event on February 6.
Steve Powell, Chief Executive at SignHealth, the national healthcare charity for deaf people, said: “Our Guinness World Records sign2sing project is an attempt to break the world record for the most people singing and signing a song at the same time. More than 800 schools have signed up so far and we’re delighted six in Doncaster are involved in the event too.”
Earlier this year 114,277 children took part in SignHealth’s sign2sing 2012 event, including pupils from Doncaster, and smashed the world record. The previous record was 94,489.
