A RIGHT royal welcome! That’s what the Princess Royal was treated to when she arrived in Doncaster to enjoy a blooming lovely day out at a local horticulture business.

The royal visitor was at Adwick Community Enterprise which employs and trains adults with learning disabilities to chat to users and see some of their work they do in cultivating plants and flowers.

Manager Elaine Swinwood said: “It was a really lovely day – all our service users were absolutely buzzing and had been excited for days. She took time to chat to everyone and made sure everyone was involved.

“She was very knowledgeable about horticulture and asked lots of questions.

“She told me she had really enjoyed the visit and found it very informative.”

The business, which is supported by Doncaster Council, sells a wide range of plants, shrubs, trees, supplies and garden furniture and is open to the public.

Mayor of Doncaster Peter Davies said: “Everyone should have an opportunity to gain access to employment or training and be able to develop their skills whatever the personal challenges they face. Adwick Community Enterprise does fantastic work and offers high-quality products and services all year round.”
