A MOTHER and daughter team ia serving up culinary treats to customers at a cafe.

Michelle Spencer, 36, and her daughter Jaide, 17, have been working alongside each other for the past year at The Dovecote Cafe and Shop.

While Michelle is hard at work cooking the meals in the kitchen, Jaide is out front taking orders from diners.

The duo serve up starters, main courses and deserts to visitors to the Misterton cafe throughout the week.

Michelle, of Misterton, told the Epworth Bells she and Jaide, a student at Trent Valley Academy, make a perfect team.

She said: “It has been great, we really enjoy working together.

“The whole team get on well and there is a really happy, family atmosphere.

“I think that the customers also pick up on that who come here regularly.”

Jaide added: “It is a great way to meet new people working here. I enjoy it because I get to spend time with my mum while also earning some money.”
