The French Collection N0 97 - Can you name the people in the picture taken outside Epworth Mechanics Institute.

EPWORTH Mechanics’ Institute is hoping Bells/Advertiser readers can help them with a puzzle this week.

This picture has been at the library for many years and as part of a display to mark their 175th anniversary on October 20 it is hoped the staff and volunteers can discover who is pictured.

Librarian Susan Selby said the photo was taken outside the Mechanics and they have dated it after 1982. Known faces are Stanley Houghton (third from left) and Albert Rimington (seated). She said: “We are trying to get as much information as we can about the library on the wall in the form of a timeline.”

Anyone that can help is asked to contact Susan on 01427 872238 or email susan.selby@btinternet.com
