THOUSANDS of women will put their best foot forward this weekend in a bid to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Three-thousand runners, walkers and joggers are expected to take part in Race for Life on Town Field from 11am on Sunday in a bid to raise £180,000 for

And among those limbering up for the five kilometre route is a team from letting agents 3Keys Property in Town End, who are aiming to raise £1,000.

Manager Laura Gilligan said: “If we reach our £1,000 target the staff can choose an outfit and I will complete the race wearing this, although I am quite concerned as Big Bird, Bart Simpson and Mrs Blobby have all been suggested. Anything in the name of charity.”

Alison Mackfall, Yorkshire Race for Life manager, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that so many women have entered Race for Life in Doncaster. Together, they will help us create a fantastic atmosphere on the day and raise crucial funds to help beat cancer.”

Free buses will be provided to the race. For details go to www.travelsouthyorkshire.com/race
