Lucky break for hospice

STAFF at a children’s hospice are going snooker loopy after it was announced that £250 will be donated to the charity for every century break made at a tournament.
World Snooker and the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association will award the cash to Bluebell Wood, in South Yorkshire, for century breaks made at the Betfair Masters tournament at Alexandra Palace, London, which started on Sunday and runs until Sunday.
World-class players including Neil Robertson, John Higgins and Judd Trump are playing.
World Snooker have been fundraising for the children’s hospice since September 2012 and have already raised over £31,000.
World Snooker chairman Barry Hearn said: “We are aiming to raise over £100,000 for our official charity Bluebell Wood this year, so we are delighted to be able to add to that total with cash for centuries at the Masters. I want to see all of the players going for big breaks to get that total as high as possible.”
