It’s a new chapter

A GROUP of caring volunteers have helped create a new chapter by saving a library from permant closure.
Scawthorpe Library was one of the several of the borough’s sites Doncaster Council had earmarked for closure because of dwindling customer numbers.
However, residents were determined to relaunch the village site and celebrated the official re-opening at Amersall Road recently.
As part of the celebrations, youngsters were also handed gold medals for completing a successful reading project over the summer holidays.
The site now boasts just shy of 20 volunteers who are all sparing their time to run the library and plan activities for people of all ages. If you can offer some time, call 01302 781786.
