MP Caroline Flint, joined staff at the Co-operative store on Gattison Lane, Rossington this week to back calls on local retailers to support the No ID, No Sale'.

A CAMPAIGN to stop children from buying alcohol, tobacco and lottery tickets has been backed by a Doncaster MP.

Don Valley MP Caroline Flint joined CitizenCard’s marketing manager Nigel Catlow and visited The Co-operative supermarket in Gattison Lane, Rossington, to get the store and other retailers to support the ‘No ID No Sale’ appeal.

Ms Flint said schemes such as CitizenCard were essential.

She said: “CitizenCard is a real step forward for young people in my constituency. Over 1,800 already have a CitizenCard in Don Valley.

“I would urge all young adults to obtain a CitizenCard or similar ID that contains the police-endorsed PASS hologram.”

Retailers could face a fine of up to £10,000 if they are caught persistently selling restricted products to youngsters.
