DEARNE pupils are linking with a South Yorkshire actor in a joint project to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.
Last Friday Jayson Bartlett of JB Theatre Productions left the Dearne Advanced Learning Centre at Goldthorpe to begin his 250 miles sponsored bike ride and walk to the Imperial War Museum, London, to arrive on Sunday, the Holocaust Memorial Day.
Year 10 pupils from the ALC will be involved in an exchange programme this year with three schools in Germany, and will visit Auschwitz and meet Holocaust survivors. Jason aims to raise six million pennies to represent those who died in the Holocaust and to help fight against hate, bigotry and discrimination through its Theatre In Education. Donations can be made on Jayson’s website www.jbtheatreproductions.com.
An ALC school spokesman said: “Pupils will also perform Jayson’s play which is called The Interview - The Story of The Holocaust.”
