VINTAGE vehicles got visitors in a spin with some of the finest wheels dating back to the 1920s on show.

Around 500 cars had travelled to Doncaster to take part in the Rotary Club of Doncaster St George’s Classic Car show at Doncaster College for the Deaf, which featured vehicles from across the ages including a couple of brand new Ferraris.

There was a taste of old school Las Vegas glamour at the event with Elvis Presley impersonator Arron Philips captivating the crowds, whilst posing for photos in a 1954 Cadillac El Dorado - the same model of car owned by the King himself.

Thousands of visitors from across the country had turned up to see the car display, which had managed to go ahead despite the bad weather.

Nigel Thornley, one of the show organisers, said: “It is the biggest one we’ve done.

“We’re now looking to plan another one for next year.”

Visitors had the chance to take home a piece of history as a Jaguar XK8 sports car was being raffled by the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club.

Money raised by the show will go to the Rotary club’s charity fund and handed to causes around Doncaster.
