HEALTHY eating with an emphasis on local produce was the theme of a get together involving community groups and schools from around the Dearne.

More than 40 people attended The Love Where You Live event at The Place, Conisbrough.

Organiser Sean Gibbons, of Food AWARE said: “We showcased our fantastic Big Lottery/Local Food project called ‘HYPER’ (Helping Yorkshire People Eat Responsibly.

“There was lots of fresh local produce on display and everyone got to take some produce home with them along with educational leaflets.”

Based in Conisbrough, Food AWARE was set up to find ways of redistributing surplus food from potential waste to human consumption or other environmentally friendly means of reuse.
