AN enterprising group of young people from Doncaster has represented South Yorkshire in a competition after their ‘tee-lightful’ business impressed a panel of judges.

A team of 14 Don Valley Academy pupils formed the business DV Fusion and worked on making, marketing and selling wooden teelight holders.

The group’s impressively-run enterprise won the plaudits at South Yorkshire level where judges crowned the creation of the 14 to 18-year-old’s as winners.

DV Fusion was then put forward as just one of four groups competing for the title of Yorkshire and the Humber’s Best Young Enterprise Company and were up against teams from Halifax, Hull and York at Friday’s final.

Children were praised for their presentation and made the largest profit after setting up their business at Christmas, however Hull’s Hymers College won overall for their car air freshener that reminded people to take plastic bags with them when they leave their car to go shopping.
