AN intrepid Doncaster man is gearing up for a trek in the Himalayas in aid of a cause close to his heart.

Danny Carling, 30, will be taking part in a trek to Everest Base Camp in March to raise money for charity Cancer Research.

The warehouse manager tragically lost his aunt Barbara Pryse who died of cancer aged 56 just a few months ago.

Danny, from Stainforth, has already surpassed his fundraising target with his total currently at £5,740.

He said: “People’s support and generosity will get me through the trek when I am tired, beat, struggling for breath at the altitudes.”

Danny hopes to raise even more money for the cause. Visit www.justgiving.com/Danny-carling to sponsor him.
