TRAIN stops across South Yorkshire are sporting a new look thanks to crafty residents.
Figures at Barnsley Station were wrapped up in scarves and hats, seats at Penistone were given crochet covers and colourful bunting popped up at Dodworth as part of a project to brighten the railway lines.
The Stitch the Line project involved stations from Stocksmoor to Barnsley being decorated with work produced by craft groups.
Students decorated Barnsley Station’s Cawthorne Dragon public art with their home-made winter warmers.
Funding came from the East Peak Innovation Partnership and from Penistone Line Partnership and Northern Rail.
To celebrate the success, students hopped on a train from Huddersfield to Barnsley, discussing the work on display with passengers, and handed out copies of a free arts and crafts directory.
