CONSTRUCTION students from Doncaster College built up their skills and knowledge thanks to a visit organised by affordable housing specialist Lovell to a major local regeneration scheme.

Lovell took a dozen students, aged between 16 and 30, on a guided site tour of the Six Streets development in Hyde Park.

The group are also being offered work experience placements at the scheme where Lovell, working with Doncaster Council, is creating 123 new homes for rent, sale and shared ownership.

Student Harry Murray said: “These visits are really beneficial - they enable us to link our classroom learning to the practical aspects of site work.”

Construction lecturer Stuart MacLean said: “Visits provide enrichment and can benefit learners’ understanding. They will spend their lives working on such sites.”
