Breast feeding support group event

Mums at a Doncaster breastfeeding support group will be holding a strawberry cream tea event on Tuesday.

The Mexborough event will be held at the group’s weekly meeting at Mexborough Children’s Centre from 1.30pm to 3pm.

Any breastfeeding mums from across the Doncaster area are welcome to attend.

Family support worker Nicky Hill said: “Our peer supporters are breastfeeding mums who have had a positive breastfeeding experience and who have completed La Leche League Peer Supporter Training at Mexborough Children’s Centre.”

“This training has enabled them to support breastfeeding mothers within the community and work alongside midwives and health visitors to offer practical help on all aspects of breastfeeding and its impact on daily life. Peer supporters give invaluable help and support not only in group settings but also provide telephone support and, where appropriate, home visits.”
