YOUNG angler Thomas Turton has netted himself two trophies for his talent at his sport.

Dearne ALC pupil Thomas, 13, of Goldthorpe, has been keen on fishing since he first threw a line with his dad at the tender age of four.

He became a member of Barnsley Juniors’ fishing club and quickly won a reputation for his skill.

He received two trophies recently, after being nominated by all the anglers in his fishing team for one.

The other was the Winter League Trophy that was handed to him in recognition of his many match wins. The teen angler names his own fishing idol as Mick Brown.

The Dearne ALC also congratulated Thomas on his achievements.
