Adults urged to get blood pressure checks
FREE blood pressure checks are being offered at a number of venues across the Dearne.
Blood Pressure UK is running the sessions as part of their annual awareness campaign, called Know your Numbers! Week, which runs until Sunday, September 16.
This comes as figures revealed one in three adults have high blood pressure, which in the UK is responsible for 60 per cent of strokes and 40 per cent of heart attacks.
Blood Pressure UK is now urging all adults to know their blood pressure numbers by taking a quick test.
Paul Newman, Chief Executive of Blood Pressure UK, said: “High blood pressure is a dangerous condition when not managed and we hope everyone will take advantage of the free blood pressure checks on offer to lower their risk of stroke and heart attack.”
South Yorkshire Pressure Stations will be available until Sunday at the three Cohens Chemist’s in Hoyland and one on Harlington Road, Mexborough.
