Action over ‘black cats’
PLANS are in place across the Dearne, to clamp down on anti-social behaviour in the run up to bonfire night.
Last year, a profusion of ‘black cat’ bangers sold off the street caused problems. Wombwell police revealed at a meeting this week that the bangers were sold illegally and had been let off in people’s gardens and through letterboxes in Darfield and other areas.
Sgt Phil Jenkinson told a PACT meeting that additional staff will work the weekend of November 3 to 4 on extended hours to stamp on trouble and maintain a high profile.
